There hasn’t been much to update people on, no news is good news. He continues with maintenance for the next 3 years. This means we go every 2 weeks sometimes just for counts, sometimes chemo and meds. He will get his spinal taps every 2-3 months and is on steroids 1 week every month. That is the meds he hates and we have to force twice a day but they say it is as important as the chemo (easily said). I just wish the roid rage would tapper down a bit. We give him chemo every day but it is tastless so he has no idea.
Right now his ANC numbers are close to 500 which is really low for him (they are usually well over 1000). This means he is highly suseptible to illness. Yeah, just in time for this wonderful flu season. He did get a flu shot and gets profilactic antibiotics once a month via IV so hopefully he will be able to avoid the bad flu that is going around. And no, he did not get the swine flu shot. The docs haven’t mentioned it and anyway he gets soooo much meds in his little system enough is enough. We just keep an eye out for fever. Other than that he is doing pretty good and his hair is growing back!!!!
He continues to love preschool!
Please keep him in your prayers. I know that is what has helped keep him so well during his fight. Thank you for those prayers!
Love and best wishes,
Craig, Carrie, Connor and Creid
